Sun Oct 27 05:01:45 UTC 2024: ## Teenage Cricket Prodigy Caoimhe Bray Joins Sydney Sixers

**Adamstown, NSW** – 15-year-old Caoimhe Bray, a rising star in both cricket and soccer, has secured the final spot on the Sydney Sixers’ WBBL roster, fulfilling a childhood dream. Bray, who hails from Denman and now resides in Newcastle, joins her idol Ellyse Perry, alongside Australian captain Alyssa Healy and all-rounder Ash Gardner.

Bray’s selection comes after a whirlwind few months. She was the Junior Matildas’ first-choice goalkeeper at the AFC under-17 Women’s Asian Cup in May, followed by a tri-series with the Australian under-19 cricket team in September-October. She impressed during a four-match stint with the Sixers in the inaugural T20 Spring Challenge, showcasing her talents with both bat and ball, including taking the wicket of Brisbane Heat batter Laura Harris.

Bray is eager to learn from her experienced teammates and coaches, particularly Perry, aiming to further develop her skills within the highly competitive national T20 competition.

“I think I would probably have more of a role with bowling,” Bray said, “But I’m just hoping for development, because I’m so young. It’s more just getting the most out of training and those elite players like Ellyse Perry.”

Sixers general manager, Rachael Haynes, expressed excitement about Bray’s addition to the team, highlighting her talent and potential. “We’ve seen Caoimhe’s growth, rising through the NSW pathway ranks and, more recently, how seamlessly she slotted into our group during the Spring Challenge,” Haynes said.

Bray’s selection is a testament to her exceptional talent and dedication across two sports. She is a standout performer in both cricket and soccer, demonstrating a bright future ahead. Her journey inspires young athletes across the country, showcasing the possibilities of achieving your dreams with hard work and passion.
