The long-awaited thriller film “Naam,” starring Ajay Devgn and directed by Anees Bazmee, is finally set to hit theaters on November 22, 2024. The film, originally slated for release in 2006, has been stuck in development hell for years, but now Pen Marudhar will be distributing it worldwide.
“Naam,” a psychological thriller shot in Mumbai and Switzerland, features a patriotic angle and has been generating buzz for its suspenseful plot. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the release date, marking a major milestone for the film.
This isn’t the first time “Naam” has been rumored to release. In 2020, Bazmee’s other unreleased film, “It’s My Life,” starring Harman Baweja and Genelia D’Souza, was released directly on television. Bazmee had then hinted at a similar release for “Naam,” but it never materialized.
In 2022, producer Anil Rungta acquired the rights to the film under his banner Rungta Entertainment. He expressed his excitement, stating that “Naam” holds a special place for him as it’s the fourth collaboration between Ajay Devgn and Anees Bazmee after successful films like “Deewangi,” “Halchal,” and “Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha.”
Bazmee himself expressed his hope for the film’s release in a throwback post in 2019, sharing a photo from the film’s set with Devgn, Bhumika Chawla, and Sameera Reddy. He captioned it, “This was taken in Switzerland, while shooting for an unreleased film ‘Naam’ with @ajaydevgn, #BhumikaChawla & @reddysameera. It was a suspense thriller that you would have loved.”
Fans are now eagerly anticipating the release of “Naam” and the chance to finally witness this long-awaited collaboration between Devgn and Bazmee.
