Sun Oct 20 20:20:48 UTC 2024: Inter Milan is monitoring two young midfielders as they seek to address the noticeable drop in performance between Hakan Calhanoglu and Kristjan Asllani when the latter is substituted. The players being scouted are Adrian Bernabé from Parma, who has developed well since moving from Manchester City, and Hellas Verona’s Reda Belahyane, who has recently impressed in limited appearances.
Asllani has recently had his contract extended until 2029 but must enhance his performance to secure his place in the team and avoid being targeted in the transfer market, especially after the club invested €15 million in him from Empoli. With his current statistics showing 66 appearances, one goal, and two assists, his potential remains, yet he faces challenges in gaining playing time.
Inter is mindful of needing a successor for Calhanoglu, but they won’t make significant purchases until his performance declines, which currently makes Bernabé, who is primed for a bigger role, less likely to be acquired.
