Fri Oct 18 09:50:00 UTC 2024: ## 36ers Use Week-Long Practice to Refocus and Prepare for Tasmania Clash
Adelaide 36ers head coach Mike Wells has welcomed the opportunity for a full week of practice, describing it as the perfect time to re-evaluate and sharpen their game ahead of Sunday’s home clash against the Tasmania JackJumpers.
The 36ers have just wrapped up a grueling schedule of four games in 11 days, winning three of those contests. Wells explained that this week’s extended practice time allows for valuable introspection and fine-tuning. “It’s a chance for our team to evaluate ourselves, to teach and correct, and focus on our own game,” he stated. “We can look at different playing combinations, defensive alignments, and other crucial aspects.”
While the JackJumpers face the Sydney Kings on Friday night in Launceston, Wells emphasized that this doesn’t significantly impact their preparation. “We lay out our game plan four or five days in advance and work on it throughout the week,” he said. “We’ll obviously watch Friday’s game and adjust our practice accordingly on Saturday.”
He added that with teams revealing their strategies throughout the season, the 36ers have a good understanding of the JackJumpers’ style. “We’ll be ready to adapt if they introduce something new,” Wells confirmed. “Every team is unique, and for our group, it’s best to stay focused on ourselves and control what we can.”
