**New Delhi:** The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the much-awaited UGC NET 2024 results will be released by **October 18, 2024**. Candidates can access their results and download scorecards using their application number and date of birth on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
The UGC NET exam, held in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format from August 27 to September 4, 2024, saw a large number of participants eagerly awaiting the results. The NTA had earlier released provisional answer keys for the exam, and candidates were given the opportunity to raise objections.
The results will be announced alongside the final answer key, which may be available either at the same time or shortly beforehand.
**Advocate Raises Concerns over Delay:** Meanwhile, Ujjawal Gaur, a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA), has raised concerns over the delay in the UGC NET results.
In a letter to the Chairman of UGC and the Chairperson of NTA, Gaur highlighted the significant disruption this delay is causing to students’ academic and professional pursuits. He stated that the delay undermines students’ efforts and violates their fundamental rights.
Gaur’s concerns were echoed on social media, with many students expressing frustration and anxiety about the uncertainty surrounding the results. A fake screenshot of the UGC NET result page has further heightened the tension, with many students falling victim to misinformation.
**Key Eligibility Criteria:** To qualify for UGC-NET 2024, applicants from the General and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) must achieve at least 55% in their Master’s degree. Candidates from OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and third-gender categories must obtain a minimum of 50%. All degrees must be earned from accredited institutions in relevant fields of study.
**No Negative Marking Policy:** The UGC NET examination employs a no-negative marking policy. Candidates receive two points for each correct answer, with no deductions for incorrect or unanswered questions.
As the NTA prepares to release the UGC NET 2024 results, students are advised to stay informed and vigilant, avoiding any unverified information or sources.
