Thu Oct 17 22:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Manny Ramirez to Throw First Pitch at NLCS Game 1

**Los Angeles, CA** – Baseball legend Manny Ramirez will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 1 of the National League Championship Series between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday evening. Ramirez, a three-time World Series champion with the Boston Red Sox, spent part of his career with the Dodgers, helping them reach the NLCS in 2008 and 2009.

The Dodgers boast three former Red Sox players on their roster: Ryan Brasier, Kiké Hernández, and Mookie Betts. The Mets also have three former Red Sox players: Jose Iglesias, J.D. Martinez, and Adam Ottavino. Adding to the Boston connection, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was a key player for the Red Sox during their 2004 World Series victory.

Ramirez, MLB’s all-time leader in playoff home runs, hit the last five postseason home runs of his career with the Dodgers. Interestingly, the Dodgers could face another former Ramirez team in the World Series. The Cleveland Guardians, Ramirez’s team for the first eight years of his career, will compete against the New York Yankees for the American League pennant.
