HBO unveiled a new trailer for its highly anticipated Dune prequel series, *Dune: Prophecy*, at New York Comic Con. Unlike director Denis Villeneuve’s recent *Dune* films, which focus on Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides, this series delves deep into the past of Frank Herbert’s iconic sci-fi universe, set a staggering 10,000 years before the events of the original novels.
*Dune: Prophecy* will offer a glimpse into the mysterious origins of the Bene Gesserit, a powerful and influential sisterhood, and showcase the vast scope of their plans that span centuries. The series centers on two Harkonnen sisters, Valya (Emily Watson) and Tula (Olivia Williams), as they navigate threats to humanity’s future and lay the foundation for the Bene Gesserit’s rise to power.
The star-studded cast also includes Jodhi May as Empress Natalya, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina as Princess Ynez, Shalom Brune-Franklin as Mikaela, Faoileann Cunningham as Sister Jen, Aoife Hinds as Sister Emeline, Chloe Lea as Lila, Travis Fimmel as Desmond Hart, Mark Strong as Emperor Javicco Corrino, Jade Anouka as Sister Theodosia, and Chris Mason as Kieran Atreides.
Behind the scenes, *Dune: Prophecy* boasts a team of renowned producers, including Alison Schapker (showrunner, head writer, and executive producer), Diane Ademu-John (co-developer and executive producer), and Anna Foerster (executive producer). The show also features executive producers from the Frank Herbert estate, ensuring a faithful adaptation of the beloved universe.
*Dune: Prophecy* premieres on November 17th on HBO and Max.
