**Panchkula, Haryana:** Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for a second time on Thursday, with a focus on good governance, equality, and the welfare of the poor. The ceremony, held at the Dussehra ground in Panchkula, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several BJP bigwigs, and National Democratic Alliance partners.
Saini, who led the BJP to its third consecutive victory in the state, thanked the people of Haryana for their mandate and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his inspirational leadership. “For the third time with full majority, the BJP government will work with full energy for good governance, equality and welfare of the poor,” he said.
A total of 13 MLAs were also sworn in as ministers, including former Deputy Chief Minister Anil Vij, and Shruti Choudhary.
The BJP won 48 out of 90 seats in the assembly elections, securing a clear majority. The Congress won 37 seats.
Saini, a low-profile OBC leader, replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as chief minister in March and was the BJP’s chief ministerial face in the state assembly polls. His OBC and Dalit support base played a crucial role in the BJP’s victory.
The swearing-in ceremony was a grand affair with a high-profile attendance that included Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP national president JP Nadda.
Following the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi chaired a national conclave of NDA chief ministers and deputy chief ministers in Chandigarh, discussing key national development issues.
