Thu Oct 17 20:43:45 UTC 2024: ## Minor Earthquake Shakes Meghalaya, No Damages Reported
**Sohmynting, West Jaiñtia Hills (WYRTA):** A minor earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale struck Meghalaya at 12:28 PM on February 18th. The epicenter of the tremor was located 5 kilometers below the surface near Sohmynting in the West Jaiñtia Hills.
The earthquake was felt in several districts including East Jaiñtia Hills, East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills, and Ri-Bhoi District in Meghalaya. It was also felt in parts of Assam like Hamren, Narigaon, Silchar, and others, as well as in certain areas of Bangladesh bordering the Jaiñtia Hills and Khasi Hills.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of any damage or casualties.
