After a solid start from openers Rohit Sharma (52) and Shubman Gill (35), Virat Kohli (70) anchored the innings before falling to a catch by Tom Latham off Michael Bracewell. However, a crucial 136-run partnership between Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan (70*), who remains unbeaten at the end of the day, kept India in the game.
