Fri Oct 18 14:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Pottawattamie County Residents Have Until Tuesday to Apply for FEMA Assistance After June Storms
**Council Bluffs, IA** – Residents of Pottawattamie County affected by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding between June 16 and July 23, 2024, have until Tuesday, October 22, to apply for FEMA assistance. The deadline is approaching for Disaster #4796.
FEMA assistance may provide grants to cover temporary housing, home repairs, and other disaster-related needs for those who experienced damage or incurred expenses due to the severe weather. Self-employed residents may also be eligible.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is also offering loans to help cover home repairs, business impacts, and other disaster-related expenses.

**Long-term Disaster Recovery Center (LT-DRC):**

**Disaster Case Advocates:**
At the LT-DRC, disaster survivors can meet with a Disaster Case Advocate who can help guide them through the recovery process, assist in developing a recovery plan, and connect them with assistance programs to fill gaps in their recovery. A representative from the SBA is also on-site to assist.
