**Dubai, UAE:** South Africa delivered a stunning upset, defeating defending champions Australia by six wickets in a thrilling semi-final clash at the Women’s T20 World Cup. Anneke Bosch’s brilliant unbeaten 74 from 48 balls powered the Proteas to victory, chasing down a target of 135 with ease.

Australia, who had been a dominant force throughout the tournament, never really got going in the match. Their batting lineup struggled against a disciplined South African bowling attack, with the highest score coming from Beth Mooney’s 42.

Bosch, who was named player of the match, played with a calm and calculated aggression, hitting 10 boundaries and a six in her sensational knock. She formed a crucial 96-run partnership with Laura Wolvaardt (40), putting South Africa firmly in control of the chase.

“My heart is racing a lot,” Bosch said after the match. “It was quite tough out there and I am glad we could get over the line and that I could finally contribute some runs. Me and Laura out there talked about keeping it simple, not overthinking, playing with the conditions and sticking to what we know.”

Australia’s captain Tahlia McGrath admitted that her team “just didn’t really show up” and gave credit to South Africa’s performance. “They outplayed us tonight and we weren’t at our best,” McGrath said. “We were trying to keep it really simple but were off our best and got punished.”

South Africa now advances to their second consecutive final, where they will face the winner of the other semi-final between West Indies and New Zealand. The final will be played on Sunday, March 26th.
