Thu Oct 17 20:24:09 UTC 2024: ## UGC NET Exam Results Declared: Over 6 Lakh Candidates Appeared

**New Delhi:** The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results for the UGC NET examination, held in August and September this year. Over 6 lakh candidates appeared for the examination, which was re-conducted in August after the June exams were marred by allegations of paper leak.

The results are available on the official websites of UGC, ugcnet.ntaonline.in and nta.ac.in. The final answer key for the exam was released earlier.

A total of 11,21,225 candidates had registered for the exam, out of which 6,84,224 candidates actually appeared.

This news comes amidst other developments, including:

* The arrest of PP Divya in connection with the death of actor Naveen Babu. Divya is being questioned by police and has filed a petition seeking anticipatory bail.
* An investigation report by the district collector on Naveen Babu’s death has been released, concluding that there was no foul play.
* A fake bomb threat was received at nine airports across India, leading to a security alert and an emergency landing of an Air India flight from Mumbai to London.

The UGC NET examination is a national-level test for eligibility for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.
