**Ranchi:** The AJSU party and the BJP are set to form an alliance for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections in 2024. Multiple rounds of discussions between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and AJSU party chief Suदेश Mahto have concluded, paving the way for a formal announcement.

Mahto, a four-time winner from the Silli constituency, will contest from the same seat for a fifth term. He is expected to face tough competition from Devendra Nath Mahto, who contested against him in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections for the Ranchi seat and secured a significant vote share in Silli.

Meanwhile, the JMM is also eyeing the Silli seat, with Rakesh Kiran, Nagenranath Goswami, Raju Mahto, and Jitendra Mahto vying for the Congress ticket. The party believes it has a stronger candidate for the seat than the JMM.

The BJP-AJSU alliance and potential JMM-Congress face-off is set to make the Silli constituency one of the most hotly contested in the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections.
