Fri Oct 18 15:42:12 UTC 2024: ## Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar Killed in Israeli Military Operation

**Gaza City, Israel** – Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has been killed in an Israeli military operation, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Footage of the final moments of Sinwar’s life has been released, showing a tense standoff between Israeli soldiers and Sinwar and his associates in a damaged building.

The video shows Sinwar hiding in a damaged building, as Israeli soldiers launch a drone into the structure to confirm his location. Sinwar, apparently injured, throws a stick at the approaching drone, which narrowly misses. The drone subsequently retreats, and the building is shelled by IDF tanks.

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Katz confirmed the death of Sinwar, calling him “responsible for the massacres and atrocities of October 7th.” IDF Spokesman RADM Daniel Hagari also released a video statement, describing Sinwar as “responsible for the most brutal attack against Israel in our history.”

Hagari condemned the Hamas attacks, highlighting the hostage situation and the deaths of civilians, including children, women, and men. He emphasized that the conflict is with Hamas, not the people of Gaza, and reiterated Israel’s commitment to providing food, water, and medicine to the Gaza population.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that while the death of Sinwar does not mark the end of the conflict in Gaza, it does signal “the beginning of the end.”

The AIMIM party has reportedly offered an alliance with the MVA coalition, which was rejected by the Congress party. AIMIM demanded 28 seats in Muslim-majority areas. The party is considering contesting 5 seats in Marathwada, seeking to garner support from Congress to defeat the BJP. In the past, AIMIM has contested seats against Congress and NCP, causing them losses.
