Thu Oct 17 08:01:54 UTC 2024: ## Kiwi Captain’s Stunning Catch Sends Sarfaraz Khan Packing in Bengaluru Test

**Bengaluru:** Young Indian batsman Sarfaraz Khan, who replaced the injured Shubman Gill in the ongoing first Test against New Zealand, had a disastrous start to his innings, falling victim to a sensational catch by Kiwi captain Devon Conway.

Batting at number four, Sarfaraz failed to score a single run, falling prey to a brilliant catch by Conway. The incident happened in the 10th over, bowled by Matt Henry. Sarfaraz attempted to clear extra cover, but the ball didn’t get the desired height and distance due to a poor connection with the bat.

Conway, stationed at extra cover, reacted swiftly, taking a spectacular leap and grabbing the ball with one hand. His stunning catch left the crowd and even Henry stunned, with the Kiwi skipper breaking into a wide smile.

This was a disappointing start for Sarfaraz, who has been in tremendous form in domestic cricket. He faced just three deliveries before being dismissed.

Despite a promising start to his Test career, Sarfaraz is still looking to establish himself at the highest level. He has played four Tests for India, scoring 200 runs at an average of 40.00, with three half-centuries.

India will be hoping for a much better performance from Sarfaraz in the upcoming innings to consolidate their position in the first Test.
