**New Delhi, October 16, 2024** – Five underprivileged children from Bengaluru’s Parikrma Humanity Foundation had a once-in-a-lifetime experience, rubbing shoulders with Indian cricket stars thanks to an initiative by SBI Life Insurance and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The children, Deepika M, Mailari N, Ananya V, Nava Pranav, and Paogouhao L, were given the opportunity to train alongside some of India’s best cricketers. They received wicketkeeping tips from Sanju Samson, faced the bowling attack of Arshdeep Singh, and even batted alongside the current Indian T20 captain, Suryakumar Yadav.
The experience extended beyond the practice nets as the children also got to watch the India vs Bangladesh international T20 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
The initiative, spearheaded by SBI Life Insurance, aimed to enrich the lives of underprivileged children, encouraging them to dream big and pursue their aspirations. “We are honored to have played a small part in helping these children experience such a significant moment in their lives,” said Mr. Ravindra Sharma, Chief of Brand, Corporate Communication, and CSR at SBI Life. “At SBI Life, our partnership with BCCI goes beyond supporting the sport. We want to inspire fans across the nation and liberate them to dream big.”
Mr. Sharma expressed gratitude to the cricket legends for taking the time to interact with the children. “The quality time spent will be etched as an inspirational memory for the kids, encouraging them to dream big.”
Through such initiatives, SBI Life reaffirms its commitment to supporting and empowering children, nurturing their dreams both inside and outside the classroom.
