Tue Oct 15 19:21:42 UTC 2024: ## Young Debutant Kamran Ghulam Steals the Show with Century in England Test

**Manchester, England:** Kamran Ghulam, a 28-year-old making his debut for Pakistan, stole the spotlight on day one of the second Test against England with a stunning century. Ghulam, who replaced the dropped Babar Azam, scored 118 runs, rescuing Pakistan from a shaky start and helping them reach 259/3 at stumps.

Pakistan were struggling at 19/2 early on, with captain Shan Masood dismissed for just 3 runs. However, Ghulam, batting at number four, formed a crucial 149-run partnership with fellow debutant Saud Shakeel. He reached his century off just 151 balls, becoming only the second oldest player in Pakistan’s history to score a century on debut. He is also the 116th player overall to achieve this feat in Test cricket.

Ghulam’s impressive performance has raised questions about Babar Azam’s future in the team, especially after he managed only 35 runs in the first Test. Babar, however, took to Instagram to congratulate Ghulam on his impressive achievement, posting two pictures of Ghulam celebrating his century and captioning them “Well played Kamran.”

Ghulam has a strong first-class record, with 16 centuries and 20 half-centuries to his name. His impressive debut performance has certainly put him in contention for a permanent place in the Pakistan Test team.

The second Test between Pakistan and England is currently underway at Old Trafford.
