**Bengaluru, India:** New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra is set to face his family in the first Test against India, which begins in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Ravindra, who has strong family roots in the city, expressed his excitement about playing in front of his loved ones.
“This Test is extra significant for me because of the family connection,” Ravindra said. “To play where a lot of my family is based is something pretty special. There will be a bunch of them in the crowd. I know my dad will be here watching the game.”
Meanwhile, Kane Williamson’s availability for the second and third Tests remains uncertain due to a groin strain. “We’re not sure. I guess he (Williamson) will play it by ear. Some news will come out soon enough,” Ravindra stated.
Despite the absence of their captain, Ravindra believes New Zealand has the quality to compete with the strong Indian team. “We’ve got some quality players in our set-up – Kane, Tom Latham, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell,” he said. “It is about finding our own method and being comfortable with it.”
