**Bengaluru, India:** The much-anticipated first Test match of the three-match series between India and New Zealand in Bengaluru has been delayed due to heavy rain. The toss, scheduled for 9:30 AM local time, has been postponed indefinitely.
The rain, which began early this morning, is making conditions unplayable at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. According to former cricketer Saba Karim, the toss could take place around 45 minutes after the rain stops.
This is the 13th Test series between the two teams, with India looking to continue their dominance over New Zealand. The Kiwis have never won a bilateral Test series in India, losing their previous series 1-0 in 2021.
The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, will be looking to capitalize on their home advantage. Meanwhile, Tom Latham will lead the New Zealand side, hoping to overcome their historical struggles in India.
The series will continue with the second Test in Pune on October 24th, followed by the final Test in Mumbai on November 1st.
