Tue Oct 15 18:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Lions Eyeing Browns’ Garrett After Hutchinson Injury
The Detroit Lions, riding high with a 4-1 record, are looking to bolster their pass rush after losing star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson to a broken leg.
ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky has suggested the Lions reach out to the struggling Cleveland Browns (1-5) to inquire about the availability of either Myles Garrett or Za’Darius Smith.
Garrett, a reigning Defensive Player of the Year, is considered a generational talent and would be a major acquisition for any team. However, given his contract through 2026 and the Browns’ potential rebuilding phase, a trade seems unlikely.
Smith, on the other hand, might be more attainable. He signed a two-year contract with the Browns this offseason and has been a solid contributor, recording three sacks this season.
Orlovsky also urged the Lions to consider pursuing Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby, regardless of the price.
Despite the Browns’ poor start, Garrett remains confident in his team’s ability to rebound. They head back home this week after three consecutive road games, and have three home games, including two divisional matchups, before their bye week.
