**Bengaluru, India** – The Karnataka government has issued a work-from-home advisory for IT-BT and private companies in Bengaluru for October 16, following an orange alert for heavy rainfall issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The Department of Electronics, Information Technology-Biotechnology and Science and Technology cited concerns over employee safety and potential disruptions to transportation systems due to flooding and waterlogging.

The advisory comes after a day of heavy rainfall that inundated several roads, including those in Manyata Tech Park, and caused significant traffic congestion across the city.

Schools in Bengaluru have also been declared closed for the day as a precautionary measure. The IMD predicts that the city will experience rainfall for the next three days.
