**Bhopal:** Swami Avimukteshwaranand, head of the Jyotish Peeth, has called for Madhya Pradesh to grant the status of “Rajamata” (Mother of the State) to the cow, echoing a similar move by the Maharashtra government. While praising the state’s existing anti-cow slaughter laws, the Swami expressed concern that despite court orders, cow carcasses are being processed into animal feed instead of being cremated.
The Swami arrived in Bhopal on Tuesday as part of a “Gauraksha Yatra” (Cow Protection Pilgrimage) and visited the Jharneश्वर temple in Jawahar Chowk. He urged the state government to further strengthen the anti-cow slaughter law and commended the state’s efforts to enforce it.
