This decision comes on the heels of the Punjab Police prohibiting leaves for all police officers and personnel in anticipation of the elections. While police remain on duty, the government has ordered the closure of all other government offices.
The Punjab Police has implemented a strict no-leave policy for all officers until October 15th, emphasizing a commitment to ensuring peaceful elections. Only leave requests under exceptional circumstances will be considered.
With a total of 13,937 village panchayats to be elected, these measures highlight the importance of the upcoming elections in the state.
