**DUBAI, UAE – October 3, 2024** – Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis and England’s Tammy Beaumont have been recognized for their exceptional performances in September, earning the ICC Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month awards respectively. This marks the second time both players have been honored with the coveted award.
Mendis, who was previously awarded the honor in March 2024, secured the September award thanks to his impressive Test performances against England and New Zealand. The batsman amassed an incredible 451 runs in four Tests at an average of 90.20, including standout performances against England with scores of 74 and 64. His brilliant century (114) on the opening day of the first Test against New Zealand in Galle further cemented his place as a top contender for the award.
Beaumont, who previously won the Women’s award in February 2021, was recognized for her exceptional contributions to England’s short-format victory in Ireland. She scored a remarkable 279 runs in five matches, demonstrating her prowess as a dominant short-format batter.
