**Bahraich, UP:** Violence erupted across several districts in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday night during Durga idol immersion processions. Following a young man’s murder in Bahraich, rioters engaged in arson and stone-throwing, leaving the district in chaos. The unrest continued late into the night, with widespread protests and further instances of arson.
The police and administration initially appeared overwhelmed and unable to contain the situation. However, the next day, the situation saw a change with the arrival of Additional Director General of Police, Amitabh Yash, who was seen personally dispersing the crowds on the streets.
This incident comes on the heels of similar violence reported in Gonda and Balrampur districts, raising concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
