**COIMBATORE, INDIA – October 7, 2024** – A private school in Coimbatore, Stanes Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, was thrown into chaos on Monday after receiving a bomb threat via email.
The anonymous email claimed that explosive devices were planted on the school grounds, prompting immediate action from the school administration. Police, bomb detection and disposal squads, and dog units were dispatched to the school, with students evacuated from their classrooms and assembled on the school grounds.
While parents of students rushed to the school, police carried out extensive searches. Fortunately, no suspicious objects were found, and the threat was determined to be a hoax.
Following the incident, precautionary searches were conducted at Coimbatore Railway Station by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), including deployment of a sniffer dog.
This incident follows similar hoax bomb threats received by three hotels in the city on Saturday.
Police investigations are ongoing to identify the source of the threats and determine the motive behind these alarming actions.
