**Anaheim, CA** – The Anaheim Ducks are looking to start the 2024-25 season with a perfect 2-0 record as they face off against the Vegas Golden Knights tonight in Sin City. The game, set for 7 PM PST, will be broadcast on VICTORY+ and FOX PLUS (KCOP Channel 13).

The Ducks opened their campaign with a 2-0 shutout victory over the San Jose Sharks last night, thanks to a strong performance from goalie Lukas Dostal, who made 30 saves. Isac Lundestrom provided the game-winning goal in the third period.

“It’s always a mystery how you’re going to start after a long layoff,” said head coach Greg Cronin, “but I think we were energized…It was a sloppy game, but Dostal was a big difference for us.”

Dostal had a stellar performance in his first career season-opening game, including a key rebound stop late in the first period. “Pucks were hitting me,” Dostal said post-game. “The guys played a great game, they were blocking shots and helping me out.”

The Ducks’ fourth line, consisting of Lundestrom, Brett Leaso, and Brock McGinn, provided the offense for the night, showcasing strong forechecking skills. “They hunted,” Cronin said of the line. “They played efficiently at the offensive blue line and didn’t have many turnovers. They deserved a goal.”

The Golden Knights, however, are already off to a hot start, boasting a 2-0 record with victories over Colorado and St. Louis. Their explosive offense, led by forwards Jack Eichel and Ivan Barbashev, has already combined for 12 points.

“We were really dialed in and played winning hockey at the end,” said Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy after their win over St. Louis. “That’s a real positive this time of the year. That’s two leads we’ve had in the third period and in both games, we’ve closed them out.”

This will be a tough test for the Ducks as they face a veteran Golden Knights team already showing signs of dominance. The game promises to be a thrilling clash of two teams with different approaches but a shared hunger for victory.
