**Rome, NY** – National Grid has announced a $125,000 donation to support recovery efforts in the Mohawk Valley following the July 16th tornado outbreak that devastated the region. The company’s emergency response teams were among the first on the scene, working alongside local officials and community partners to restore power and aid residents affected by the storms.
“National Grid is committed to our customers and the communities where we live and work,” said National Grid officials in a statement. “We have donated $125,000 to support regional organizations and municipalities that are still healing after the storms.”
The funding, allocated through National Grid’s Project C Community Investment Program, will be distributed to various organizations, including:

* **American Red Cross Disaster Relief Services:** $12,500 will be donated to support the Red Cross’s vital work providing shelter, food, and immediate assistance to those impacted by the storms.
* **Food Bank of Central New York:** $12,500 will be donated to help the Food Bank meet the increased demand for its services in the Mohawk Valley.

* **Oneida Improvement Committee:** $12,500 will be donated to help build a new “pocket park” in the city.
“The response to the tornado that struck the City of Rome on July 16th has been a total team effort,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente Jr. “Oneida County is grateful for the vital role National Grid played in the process and for the generous donation they have made to our Rome Victim Recovery Fund and to other areas of need.”
In addition to financial contributions, National Grid employees have also been actively involved in the cleanup efforts, volunteering their time to remove debris, cut back trees, and beautify the community.
“National Grid’s unwavering dedication to the communities has a larger impact on some of most delicate residents,” said Rosanne Warner, mayor of the village of Canastota. “We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for the kind donations of not only time and funds, which will be used to purchase a new handicapped pool lift for our municipal pool.”
National Grid’s commitment to supporting the Mohawk Valley community during this difficult time demonstrates the company’s dedication to both its customers and the communities where it operates.
