Mon Oct 14 13:20:00 UTC 2024: ## RSS Chief’s Vijayadashami Speech Draws Criticism from Kapil Sibal
**New Delhi, October 13, 2024:** Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has criticized the disconnect between the message of unity and harmony delivered by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat in his Vijayadashami address and the actions of the BJP-led government, which enjoys the support of the Hindutva outfit.
Sibal, a former Union Minister, pointed out Bhagwat’s call for a unified India free from religious divisions and highlighted the lack of action on the ground. He questioned why the RSS remains silent on divisive issues like “love jihad” and “flood jihad,” as well as controversial statements by government officials and incidents targeting minorities.
“There have been many divisions in society after 2014, and minorities were targeted,” Sibal said, adding that the RSS needs to be more vocal in condemning such incidents. He also expressed concern over the growing insecurity felt by minority communities and the recent murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui in Maharashtra.
“There is a complete disconnect between Bhagwat’s remarks and what the government does,” asserted Sibal.
Bhagwat’s Vijayadashami speech, delivered in Nagpur, focused on promoting social cohesion and criticized what he called “cultural Marxists” and “woke people” for undermining education and culture.
