Sun Oct 13 19:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Local Non-Profit Receives Grant to Support Tornado Recovery Efforts

**ROME, NY** – The Center for Family Life and Recovery (CFLR) has received a $7,000 grant from the Rome Community Foundation to support their ongoing efforts in helping the community recover from the July tornado.

CFLR played a crucial role in the immediate aftermath of the disaster, providing essential supplies and emotional support to residents. “Every business that could help was outside offering physical and emotional support,” stated Cassandra Sheets, CFLR’s CEO. “We distributed hundreds of bottles of water, snacks, and supplies the days following the tornado.”

Recognizing the potential for long-term mental health challenges stemming from the devastation, CFLR aims to continue offering support and resources to those affected. “CFLR will continue to be there to support the Rome Community,” Sheets said. “We are grateful to the Rome Community Foundation for recognizing and supporting our efforts, because we truly believe where there is help, there is hope.”

CFLR provides a wide range of services to individuals and families struggling with addiction, mental health, and behavioral issues. Their Rome office, located at 201 W. Dominick St., will remain a vital resource for those seeking support and guidance during this challenging time.
