**Mumbai, India -** Dharmaraj Kashyap, an accused in the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique, has been confirmed to be an adult following an ossification test conducted by Mumbai police. The test, which analyzes bone fusion to determine age, was ordered by the Esplanade Court after Kashyap’s lawyer claimed he was a minor.

Kashyap was presented before the court on Monday and remanded to police custody until October 21st. The court granted the extension after the ossification test confirmed his age.

This development comes as investigations into Siddique’s murder continue. Gurmail Singh, another accused in the case, was also remanded to police custody until October 21st. Authorities are currently pursuing a third shooter, identified as Shivakumar, who is currently absconding.

On Sunday, Mumbai Police arrested another accused in the case, Pravin Lonkar, from Pune. Lonkar is the brother of Shubham Lonkar, who is also implicated in the conspiracy. The brothers allegedly recruited Kashyap and Shivakumar to carry out the murder.

Baba Siddique was shot multiple times outside his office in Nirmal Nagar on Saturday night. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Following the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed condolences and assured the public of swift action against those responsible. He stated that the perpetrators, including those potentially connected to the Bishnoi gang or other underworld groups, would face strict consequences.

Police are continuing their investigation and are working to apprehend all those involved in the murder.
