**Bengaluru, India -** Popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his friend Pavithra Gowda were denied bail on Monday by a sessions court in Bengaluru in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy.
The 33-year-old fan of the actor was found dead near a stormwater drain in June, after allegedly sending obscene messages to Gowda, which enraged Darshan.
Police investigations suggest Darshan’s involvement in the murder, and a comprehensive charge sheet containing 3,991 pages against 17 individuals, including Darshan and Gowda, was submitted in September.
Darshan, currently incarcerated in Ballary jail following a transfer due to allegations of preferential treatment in Parappana Agrahara Central jail, continues to face legal challenges in the case.
