**TAMBULLA, SRI LANKA:** The West Indies cricket team secured a nail-biting victory against Sri Lanka in the first Twenty20 (T20) match of the series, played in Tambulla today.
Sri Lanka, batting first, posted a respectable total of 179 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Kamindu Mendis (51 runs) and Charith Asalanka (59 runs) were the standout performers for the home team.
