Sun Oct 13 09:01:41 UTC 2024: ## Washington Sundar Wins ‘Impact Fielder’ Award for India in Bangladesh T20 Series

**Hyderabad, India:** Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar was awarded the ‘Impact Fielder of the Series’ award for his outstanding performance in the recent T20I series against Bangladesh. Sundar’s efforts in the outfield, lauded by fielding coach T Dilip for his ability to “cut out angles,” earned him the recognition.

The award was presented during a dressing room ceremony following India’s dominant 133-run victory in the third T20I on Saturday. The BCCI shared a behind-the-scenes video of the ceremony on Sunday, showcasing the team’s high spirits and camaraderie.

While Sundar was recognized for his fielding prowess, Hardik Pandya was hailed as the “Formula 1 car” of the team for his electric fielding, and Riyan Parag was praised for his energy. The Indian team displayed exceptional energy throughout the series, particularly in the field.

Sundar, humbled by the award, expressed his gratitude and stated, “I always try to give my 100 percent in the field. Everyone can contribute, no matter the situation. I’m very grateful for this, thanks to T Dilip sir and the entire support staff.”

The series was a resounding success for India, who set a new T20I record of 297 runs in the third match. Sanju Samson’s spectacular century, the first by an Indian wicketkeeper-batter in T20Is, was the highlight of the innings, overshadowing even Suryakumar Yadav’s explosive contribution.

The series also marked the debut of young Indian players Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy, both receiving strong support from their senior teammates.
