Rajinikanth’s latest action drama, “Vettaiyan,” has continued its impressive box office run, crossing ₹100 crore worldwide in just two days. The film opened to a strong ₹31.70 crore net in India on its first day and held well on Friday, earning ₹24 crore more. This strong domestic performance, coupled with an impressive $4.4 million overseas, has propelled “Vettaiyan” to this impressive milestone.
“Vettaiyan’s” success is largely driven by its Tamil version, which has contributed the majority of the film’s ₹55.70 crore net domestic earnings. The dubbed versions have contributed a comparatively smaller ₹6.50 crore to the total. The film’s impressive hold, with a 24% drop from its opening day, bodes well for its future performance.
“Vettaiyan” has already entered the top 5 highest-grossing Tamil films of 2024, surpassing “Captain Miller” and “Aranamai 4” with its day two collections.
