Sun Oct 13 07:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Uddhav Thackeray Slams BJP, RSS in Dussehra Rally, Promises Temples for Shivaji Maharaj

**Mumbai:** Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray launched a scathing attack on the BJP and RSS during his party’s annual Dussehra rally on Saturday, ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in Maharashtra.

Accusing the BJP of engaging in “satta jihad” (power jihad), Thackeray condemned their relentless pursuit of power at any cost, responding to the BJP’s earlier allegations of “vote jihad” against his party. He also challenged the RSS to introspect on its contributions to Hindus over the past century, questioning their silence on the BJP’s perceived failure to protect Hindus despite being in power for a decade.

Thackeray further criticized the BJP for admitting political leaders from various parties, claiming it had lost its original principles and purity. He compared the BJP to the Kauravas, accusing it of arrogance and alleging that the party is infested with “pests,” referring to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and NCP leader Ajit Pawar.

In a key promise for the upcoming polls, Thackeray pledged to construct temples dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in every district of Maharashtra if his party regains power. He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for using Shivaji as a political tool.

Thackeray reiterated his commitment to the people of Maharashtra, promising to scrap the Dharavi Redevelopment Project if the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance returns to power. He accused the current government of looting Mumbai under the guise of the project and vowed to jail officials responsible for any irregularities.

He also urged Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud to deliver a “right decision” in the ongoing Sena versus Sena case in the Supreme Court, warning that a wrong decision would erode faith in the judiciary.

Meanwhile, the Congress submitted an updated memorandum to the Election Commission with complaints from 13 more seats in Haryana, alleging irregularities in vote counting. These complaints, primarily against BJP, allege EVM tampering.
