**New Delhi, India -** The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS) has officially opened its registration portal, offering a chance for young Indians to gain valuable work experience and contribute to the country’s development.

The portal, accessible at pminternship.mca.gov.in, went live today at 5 PM, inviting applications from over 1 crore eligible youth. Interested individuals can create online profiles and receive notifications regarding available internships.

**Eligibility Criteria:**

* **Education:** Candidates must have completed at least a high school education and hold a certification from an ITI, a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or a degree such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, or BPharma.
* **Age:** Applicants should be between 21 and 24 years old at the time of application.
* **Citizenship:** Must be an Indian citizen.
* **Employment/Education:** Should not be engaged in full-time employment or full-time education, but can be enrolled in online or distance education courses.

3. Fill in the required details, upload necessary documents, and submit your application.

**Benefits:**

* **Stipend:** Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 during the 12-month internship, funded jointly by the company and the government.
* **Financial Support:** Interns will also receive a one-time financial support of Rs 6,000 for incidental expenses.
* **Insurance Coverage:** The government will ensure interns are covered under the ‘PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana’ and ‘PM Suraksha Bima Yojana’, with premiums paid by the government.

**IGNOU Innovation Award:**

In other news, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is inviting applications for its ‘Best Innovation Award 2024’. Enrolled students can submit their innovative projects in categories such as healthcare and agriculture. Winners will receive cash prizes, mentorship, and training opportunities.
