**New Delhi:** The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against notorious gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar, along with several other members of their syndicate, revealing a complex network of criminal activities across India and several countries. The investigation has exposed the gang’s rapid growth and expansion, mirroring the strategy employed by notorious underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in the 1990s.
The NIA states that Bishnoi and his syndicate have built a vast network through extortion, targeted killings, and drug trafficking. Starting with petty crimes, the gang has now established a stronghold across North India, with over 700 shooters, including 300 from Punjab alone. The gang’s influence has spread to 11 Indian states and six countries, including the United States, Azerbaijan, Portugal, the UAE, and Russia.
The NIA’s investigation reveals that Bishnoi and his close associate Goldie Brar (currently in Canada) have forged alliances with gangs in Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan, expanding their operations to a significant scale. The gang recruits young individuals, luring them with promises of relocation to Canada and other desired countries.
Bishnoi’s gang has also been linked to Khalistani terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda, residing in Pakistan, who utilizes the gang’s shooters for targeted killings and other criminal activities in Punjab.
The NIA’s charge sheet details the gang’s organizational structure, with Goldie Brar controlling operations in Canada, Punjab, and Delhi. Rohit Godara manages the gang’s activities in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and the US, while Anmol Bishnoi commands operations in Portugal, the USA, Delhi NCR, Maharashtra, Bihar, and West Bengal. Kala Jathedi oversees operations in Haryana and Uttarakhand. All reports are ultimately forwarded to Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently in Sabarmati Jail.
The investigation has uncovered the gang’s weapon acquisition network, sourcing firearms from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and even across the border from Pakistan. The gang also receives weapons from Pakistan, America, Russia, Canada, and Nepal.
The NIA’s investigation sheds light on the alarming extent of Bishnoi and Brar’s criminal empire, raising concerns about the growing threat of organized crime in India and its international ramifications.
