Sun Oct 13 05:01:28 UTC 2024: ## Former Delhi University Professor G.N. Saibaba Passes Away After Cardiac Arrest
**Hyderabad, India** – G.N. Saibaba, a former English professor at Delhi University’s Ram Lal Anand College, passed away on Saturday evening at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital in Hyderabad. The 57-year-old academic suffered a cardiac arrest and was declared dead at 8:30 PM.
Saibaba had been admitted to the hospital ten days prior due to ill health. He underwent surgery to remove his gall bladder and had been battling an infection.
In March of this year, the Bombay High Court acquitted Saibaba in a case alleging his involvement with Maoist organizations. He was subsequently released from Nagpur jail on March 7th.
Saibaba’s arrest by the Maharashtra police in 2014 for suspected Maoist links led to his suspension from Delhi University.
His passing has been met with grief and condolences from the academic community and those who knew him.
