**Dubai, UAE** – Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, better known as “CZ,” is set to make his first public appearance since pleading guilty to violating US anti-money laundering regulations. The billionaire crypto mogul will attend the Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai on October 30-31, confirming his attendance on Twitter.
“I will be attending the Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai on Oct 30–31, in my personal capacity. It’s one of the biggest web3 events of the year. See you there,” CZ tweeted.
The announcement has sparked speculation within the Web3 community regarding CZ’s potential speaking topics. Despite his legal troubles, CZ remains a prominent figure in the crypto space.
His appearance marks a return to the public eye following a $4.3 billion settlement with the US Department of Justice, the largest corporate settlement in US history. As part of the agreement, CZ stepped down as CEO and was banned from managing Binance for life. However, he retained a 90% stake in the company, maintaining a net worth estimated at over $61 billion.
The Binance Blockchain Week, themed “Momentum,” aims to highlight the progress within the crypto industry despite ongoing challenges. The event will feature discussions on the current state of the global crypto space, its future direction, and maintaining decentralization.
Other notable speakers include Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire, Nansen CEO Alex Svanevik, Dubai Future Foundation CEO Khalfan Belfour, and Sotheby’s Vice President of Digital Art Michael Bohannan.
The event is expected to attract a large audience and provide valuable insights into the future of cryptocurrency.
