**Wuhan, China** – Grand Slam champions Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff will clash in the semi-finals of the Wuhan Open on Saturday, marking their first meeting since their thrilling encounter at the Australian Open in January. Sabalenka, the world No. 1, secured her place in the semis after a dominant straight-set victory over Magdalena Frech, firing 42 winners in a one-sided affair. Meanwhile, Gauff, ranked No. 4, continued her impressive form with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Magda Linette, extending her winning streak to eight matches and taking her season tally to 50 wins.
The American star, fresh off a victory at last week’s China Open in Beijing, will be aiming for back-to-back tournament wins. Gauff holds a slight edge in their previous encounters, having won the 2023 US Open final, but Sabalenka exacted revenge in the Australian Open semifinals.
