A train accident involving the Mysore-Darbhanga Bagmati Express occurred in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district on October 11th, 2024, injuring 19 passengers. Three passengers are in critical condition and are currently being treated in the ICU.

According to initial reports, the accident occurred when the express train, while traveling at a speed of 75 kmph, deviated from the main line and entered the loop line, colliding with a stationary goods train.

The impact of the collision resulted in one of the train carriages catching fire, leading to panic and chaos at the scene. Rescue and relief efforts were immediately initiated, with railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw monitoring the situation from a war room in Delhi. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also expressed his condolences and assured the public that the government was actively involved in the rescue and recovery operations.
