**Chennai, India:** A major train accident occurred in Tamil Nadu on Friday night, leaving 20 people injured. The Mysuru-Darbhanga Express (12578) collided with a stationary freight train near Kavarapettai Railway Station, causing the express train to derail and catch fire.

According to initial reports, the accident occurred around 8 pm when the express train, travelling from Mysore to Darbhanga, collided with the freight train on a loop line. The impact caused at least two coaches of the express train to derail, leading to a fire.

Rescue teams and ambulances have been dispatched to the scene, and a medical relief van has been sent from Chennai Central. Railway officials, including the General Manager of Southern Railway and the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Chennai Division, have rushed to the accident site.

The collision has disrupted rail traffic on the Chennai-Vijayawada route. Railway authorities are working to restore services as quickly as possible.
