Sat Oct 12 09:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Guardians and Tigers Game 5 Moved to Early Afternoon to Avoid Conflict with Ohio State Football Game

CLEVELAND – Due to a predicted chance of inclement weather, Major League Baseball has moved the start time of Saturday’s pivotal Game 5 of the AL Division Series between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians from 8:08 p.m. ET to 1:08 p.m. ET.

The change, announced Friday, comes as the Tigers prepare for the decisive game at Progressive Field. The Guardians, who evened the series with a dramatic Game 4 win on Thursday night, will look to advance to the AL Championship Series.

The schedule shift, while inconvenient for some fans, will allow those interested in both baseball and Ohio State football to enjoy both events without conflict. The Buckeyes, ranked No. 2 in the country, will face No. 3 Oregon at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Tigers will send Tarik Skubal to the mound for Game 5, while the Guardians will counter with Matthew Boyd.
