**Pune, Maharashtra:** A tragic hit-and-run incident in Pune has claimed the life of a food delivery executive, raising concerns about reckless driving and road safety. The incident occurred in the Mundhwa area of the city.

According to reports, an Audi car driver, identified as Pradeep Tayal, hit a scooter carrying three people, injuring them. The driver then allegedly collided with a motorcycle carrying the food delivery executive, Rauf Sheikh. Sheikh sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The incident, which took place around 1:30 AM, saw the accused flee the scene but was apprehended later based on CCTV footage. The luxury car was also seized. The driver is suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol, and a medical examination is underway to confirm this.

“The car driver fled the scene immediately after the accident but was later apprehended by the police,” said Additional Police Commissioner Manoj Patil. “The police are investigating the incident further.”

The Pune City Police reported that the accused first hit a two-wheeler, injuring three people, and then crashed into the motorcycle carrying Rauf Sheikh. The car rammed into the motorcycle from behind, causing severe injuries to Sheikh.

The accused, 34-year-old Tayal, was arrested from his residence in the Hadapsar area. A case has been registered against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 105, 281, 125 (A), 132, 119, 177, and 184, at the Mundhwa Police Station.

This tragic incident highlights the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and heightened awareness about road safety. The police are committed to investigating the case thoroughly and bringing the perpetrator to justice.
