Fri Oct 11 20:44:36 UTC 2024: ## Mumbai Metro Line 3 Faces Technical Glitches, Leaving Commuters Stranded

**Mumbai, India** – Just three days after its grand opening, Mumbai’s new underground Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) has faced a series of technical glitches, causing significant delays for commuters. On Wednesday morning, a malfunction in the train’s door closure system at Sahar Road station left passengers stranded for over 30 minutes during peak rush hour. This marks the second such incident in just three days, with a similar issue occurring on Monday at the same station.

Frustrated passengers took to social media to express their concerns. One user, @rahool26, tweeted, “No train at BKC for the last 30 minutes. Same thing happened yesterday; the train arrived after a 45-minute wait. No communication on when it will arrive.”

While passengers claimed there was no official communication from the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), an apology for the delay was broadcasted over the station’s announcement system. The MMRC has yet to respond to queries regarding the technical issues.

The 12.69 km line, connecting Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey Colony JVLR, serves major transit hubs, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and the BKC business district. Despite the early operational issues, the line saw a high demand for the service, with 20,482 passengers using it by 9 pm on Tuesday.

The frequent delays on the new line have raised concerns among commuters, who are calling for immediate solutions to the technical glitches. The MMRC is expected to address these issues and ensure a smooth and reliable service for passengers in the future.
