Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav was the hero for Germany as they secured a 2-1 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Nations League on Wednesday. Undav, who has only made five appearances for his country, scored twice in the match, taking his international goal tally to three.
Undav opened the scoring with a first-time finish from Florian Wirtz’s pass, before doubling Germany’s lead with a well-placed header from Maximilian Mittelstadt’s cross. Although his hat-trick attempt and a goal by Serge Gnabry were ruled out for offside, Undav’s performance was crucial in securing the victory.
Bosnia, however, managed to pull one back through a header from Edin Dzeko in the latter stages of the game. Despite a late surge, they were unable to find an equalizer.
