Sat Oct 12 02:27:44 UTC 2024: ## Air India Express Flight Makes Safe Emergency Landing After Mid-Air Glitch

**TIRUCHIRAPPALLI, INDIA:** An Air India Express flight bound for Sharjah from Tiruchirappalli experienced a technical glitch shortly after takeoff on Friday, forcing the aircraft to circle for several hours before making a safe emergency landing. The flight, carrying 141 passengers, took off at 5:30 pm but encountered a hydraulic system fault related to the landing gear.

The crew, after reporting the technical snag, took the precautionary measure of circling in the designated area to burn fuel and reduce weight, considering the runway length. While no emergency was declared, the aircraft landed safely at around 8:15 pm.

The cause of the hydraulic failure is currently under investigation by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). An alternative aircraft has been arranged for the passengers to continue their journey to Sharjah.

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu praised the airport and emergency teams for their swift response. Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi and Chief Minister M K Stalin also commended the Captain and crew for their professionalism and courage in safely landing the aircraft.

The incident caused anxiety among passengers and their families, but thankfully no injuries were reported. The airline has expressed its commitment to prioritizing safety in all its operations.
