Fri Oct 11 21:04:49 UTC 2024: ## Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Hydraulic System Failure

**Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu:** An Air India Express flight bound for Sharjah was forced to make an emergency landing at Tiruchirappalli Airport on Friday after experiencing a hydraulic system failure. The flight, carrying 141 passengers, circled over the city for nearly two hours while crew members worked to resolve the issue.

The flight took off from Tiruchirappalli around 6 PM, but shortly after takeoff, the hydraulic system malfunctioned, preventing the landing gear from deploying. The pilot circled the airport to burn off fuel, preparing for a potential belly landing, a risky maneuver where the aircraft lands on its belly without the landing gear extended.

However, after nearly three hours of circling, the crew managed to successfully deploy the landing gear, allowing the plane to make a safe landing at 8:15 PM.

The DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) is investigating the incident. Emergency services, including ambulances and fire engines, were deployed to the airport as a precautionary measure.

The airport was placed on high alert during the incident. This incident highlights the importance of robust safety procedures and the dedication of air crew members in handling emergency situations.
